Easy Peanut Butter Sandwich Surprise

As I have mentioned previously here, I became one of the finalists or "Undercover Mothers" for the Ultimate Sneak-Away Contest hosted by Veggie Patch and The Sneaky Chef with my recipe of Easy Peanut Butter Sandwich Surprise. It was quite a surprise for me! For the final round, I needed to turn my recipe submission into a video that will teach other moms how to make it. Talk about pressure!

I finally was able to find ONE night to do the entire filming AND editing. Part of it is because I didn’t want Mr. P or Lil P to know the secret ingredient I had in my recipe. Which also means I need to do the entire filming and editing ON MY OWN. Making a video is hard enough, a cooking video is even HARDER! It’s either I know what to say then forgot what to do or vice versa. After many do-overs later, I did manage to get it done. Not the greatest video but it’ll just have to do. I have added some “Hawaiian” touches and even incorporated a bento at the end since I’ve been a fan of bentos!

So, thanks to Veggie Patch and The Sneaky Chef, I’m going on video!!! You can view and make fun of (and vote for) my cheesy 5 ½ mins video of how to make my Easy Peanut Butter Sandwich Surprise on the below link:

Ultimate Sneak-Away Contest: Easy Peanut Butter Sandwich Surprise!

Now it’s time to get the word out! I was told to encourage my friends and family to vote for my video, as often as once per day! Voting starts today through Tuesday Feb 22, 2011. Please feel free to browse through the rest of the contestant’s videos here! They all have great recipes you might be able to use! The winner is based entirely on public voting on facebook (though I wish 50% are based on a panel of judges while 50% on public votes). So my chances are just as unpredictable as the other finalists.

Here is the written recipe:

Easy Peanut Butter Sandwich Surprise

2 slices of whole wheat bread
1 tbsp Carrot Puree
2-3 tbsp Creamy Peanut Butter
¼ cup of Oat Cereal (or granolas)
¼ banana slices
2 tbsp honey

1) Spread one slice of a bread with carrot puree.
2) Spread peanut butter over the carrot puree.
3) Sprinkle crunchy oats cereal or granolas on top of the peanut butter.
4) Layer sliced bananas on top.
5) Drizzle honey on bananas.
6) Top with the other slice of bread, or serve as an open sandwich.

You can also use a whole wheat wrap or tortilla and roll it up for a Peanut Butter Roll Surprise! This sandwich is packed with fiber, proteins, potassium, vitamins, and antioxidant! It can be served as a breakfast, lunch, snack, or even a dessert! Want more? Spread the other slice with hazel nut spread and sprinkle with shredded coconut for added fiber, proteins, calcium and iron! Peanut butter sandwich never tasted THIS good and be THIS good for ya!

Believe it or not, I’m on my 94th post. This blog is on the way to reaching its 100th post! I have been thinking alot about what I’ll do with my 100th post...what’s better than doing a GIVEAWAY! Just a few more posts so....stay tuned!!
