fried gau sandwich 炸年糕

Happy Chinese Lunar New Year!!! 恭喜發財!

Tonight is Chinese New Year's eve and traditionally it is the night you have a dinner gathering with your family. We'll be going to a chinese restaurant for dinner tonight. I wonder if there will be any lion dance?!

Last weekend we went to chinatown for their Chinese New Year Celebration and stayed for the parade. Lil P used to be in a kung fu school so we stopped by to say hello to everyone, the boys are all grown up! Tomorrow the kung fu shool is going to visit Lil P's school for a lion dance blessing. I'll be sure to give him a dolllar to feed the lions. =)

Anyway, back to my dish. This dish is supposed to be semi-popular around chinese new year, though i have never had this until now.

Sweet potatoe (thinly sliced)
Taro (thinly sliced)

1 egg

1 tbsp sugar

1) Sandwich Gau in between the sweet potatoe and taro.
2) Dip in batter.
