Beef Chow Fun

I purchased a packet of Look Fun (white flat chinese noodles, or "Hor Funn") a few weeks ago and I finally made it last night, for my first time. Lil P prefers chow mein and cake noodles over this. But Mr. P enjoyed it, with his chiracha hot sauce. =)

1 Package of Look Fun
1 cup of cabbage, shredded
1/2 small onion, sliced
1 cup of beef, sliced
2 tbsp shoyu
2 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 thin sliced ginger, julienne
2 tbsp oyster sauce
oil for stir fry
(Optional) shiitake mushrooms (sliced)
(Optional) beans sprouts
(Optional) green onions

1) boil package of look fun as directed, drained and set aside.
2) marinate beef with shoyu, mirin, and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
3) heat skillet with oil, garlic, ginger, and add in onions and stir until onions for 3 minutes, then add in marinated beef and it's juice, stir fry for another 3 minutes, remove beef from skillet and set aside.
4) Add in cabbage (and shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts) and cook until desired doneness, remove from skillet and set aside.
5) add alittle bit of oil in the heated skillet and add toss in look fun, add oyster sauce and continue to stir fry for another 3 minutes.
6) Toss in beef and cabbage mixture into the skillet with the look fun and continue to stir for another 3 minutes until well mixed.
7) Remove and place on serving plate, garnish with green onions (if desire), and serve!

The marinate for the beef is prepared very similar to beef broccoli. In fat, you can use the same marinate if you wish but with a little mirin (rice wine) will help kick it up a bit. :)
